CyGene has a highly capable team DNA Analysts, DNA Experts & DNA Testers

CyGene has assembled a highly qualified team of DNA Analysts, DNA Experts & DNA Testers that comprise its scientific advisory board. Each of these experts is engaged in collaborative projects with CyGene and they are recognized experts in the fields of microbiology, immunology, and genetic screening.

Michael J. Dauphinee, Ph.D. - Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research
Dr. Dauphinee is Director of the Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research, Inc., located in Plantation, Florida. Dr. Dauphinee's contributions have assisted CyGene in the implementation possibilities of Haystack Processing in the field of cancer detection, detection of metastasis and residual disease monitoring.

Michael J. Dobersen, M.D., Ph.D. - Arapahoe County (Colorado) Coroner's Office
Dr. Dobersen serves as Forensic Pathologist and Coroner/Medical Examiner for the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office in Littleton, Colorado. Dr. Dorbersen's expertise in the field of forensics and pathology are invaluable for the development of CyGene's technologies in these areas.

Ramon Eritja Casadella, Ph.D. - University of Barcelona (Spain)
Dr. Eritja is Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Barcelona, Spain and a Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology for the Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo branch of the Spanish NIH. As a result of his active involvement with CyGene since 1998, Dr. Eritja has been instrumental in the co-development of custom oligonucleotides for CyGene's molecular diagnostic and antisense therapeutic applications. Dr. Eritja is co-inventor of several technologies CyGene has under patent protection.

George E. Iliakis, Ph.D. - Jefferson Medical College (Pennsylvania)
Dr. Iliakis currently serves as Director of the Division of Experimental Radiation Oncology at the Kimmel Cancer Center, Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since 1989, Dr. Iliakis has been a Professor for the Department of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University, receiving tenure. Dr. Iliakis has been advising CyGene since July 1998 with respect to the potential application of CyGene's bromouracil cutter probe for therapeutic applications.

JoAnn M. Moulds, Ph.D. - Drexel University (Pennsylvania)
Dr. Moulds is a Research Associate Professor at Drexel University (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), Department of Microbiology and Immunology. Her work with the human immune complement system has established her as one of the few authorities in this field. Dr. Moulds has consulted with CyGene since 1999 based on her expertise in the use of immune complement. The complement cascade is the basis for one of CyGene's signal amplification technologies and STE, a potential blockbuster therapeutic application.

Eduard K. Petershofen, M.D., Ph.D. - German Red Cross
Dr. Petershofen heads the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratories of the Blood Transfusions Service in Northern Germany, covering some 800.000 blood donations a year. The institutes emphasis is on molecular genetic techniques for research and screening of genes encoding blood group antigens located on erythrocytes, thrombocytes and lymphocytes. Special intrest areas are non-invasive diagnosis and treatment of immunological diseases of newborn or unborn children, like hemolytic disease and allo-immune thrombocytopenia. These methods help to find risk constellations during pregnancy and assists in the decision to use intra-uterine transfusions with red blood cells or platelets. Since 1998 Dr. Petershofen has been collaborating with CyGene to develop and validate CyGene's technologies.

Robert G. Pinco - Buchanan Ingersoll
Mr. Pinco is co-chairman of the BioMedical/FDA Practice and head of the Biotechnology Group Practice of Buchanan Ingersoll, a leading international law firm with specialization in the biotechnology sector. Based in Washington, D.C., Mr. Pinco has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector. As a former director of the Over-the-Counter Drug Review of the FDA, he directed a massive review of more than 400,000 nonprescription drugs, the largest, most complex project ever undertaken by that agency. He also held positions as former Associate White House Counsel, with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the U.S. Attorney's Office and as a pharmacist. As a member of CyGene's advisory council Mr. Pinco provides counsel to company management on government regulatory affairs.

Willi Kurt Roth, M.D., Ph.D. - German Red Cross
Professor Dr. Roth currently heads the clinical branch of the Frankfurt/Main branch of the German Red Cross and is Professor of Medicine at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main. The blood bank in Frankfurt is the largest central reference laboratory in Europe and is responsible for the testing of 1.3 million donations per year, representing one quarter of all German blood donations including all donations made in Austria and Luxemburg. Professor Roth was responsible for establishing the standardized testing methods used throughout Europe since 1999 for the molecular screening of blood products for Hepatitis C and B, HIV, HAV and Parvovirus B19. Professor Roth holds an MBA degree in addition to his medical and scientific credentials. Since 1998 Professor Roth has been collaborating with CyGene to develop and validate CyGene's technologies for the blood banking industry.

Fred Woessner, Ph.D. - University of Miami (Florida)
Dr. Woessner is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Miami, Florida. He is considered one of the masters and is distinguished in the field of proteolytic enzyme studies and is editor of the Handbook of Proteolytic Enzymes. Dr. Woessner has been consulting and validating one of CyGene's enzymatic based signal amplification technologies since mid 2000.
