How can I obtain a personal DNA test & how does personal DNA testing work?

The basic unit of the human body is its cells, which are constantly dividing for the purposes of growth, repair or reproduction. Each cell contains an exact replica of your body's personal DNA, unique only to you. Receiving your personal DNA test is fast and easy using the DNA Saver and collection kit, which provides cells to our testing professionals so that they can extract and interpret the intricacies of your personal DNA. We use cheek (buccal) cells because these cells divide and multiply rapidly, making it easy for individuals to collect and preserve DNA samples from the comfort of their own home, without having to visit a laboratory or doctor's office. Simply collect the cells using the sponge-tipped swab included in your collection kit. Apply the cells to the DNA Saver collection card and allow to air dry for two hours.

Once you have collected your personal DNA simply pop the DNA Saver collection card into the postage pre-paid envelope and mail to the lab. Once your DNA is received at our laboratory, your personalized genetics report will be ready in approximately 3-5 business days, providing you with an invaluable tool to help you take more control over your healthcare, prevent or be vigilant about early disease detection, and help you live a longer, healthier life.
